When you think about some of your happiest times, you can bet that your canine was by your side. Dogs are more than just a pet – they’re a member of the family.

That’s why knowing your furry friend doesn’t feel right can also bring you down. The good news is that CBD oil for dogs is a natural option to potentially alleviate a wide range of pup maladies, from arthritis as your pet begins to age, to anxiety a younger pup may experience during thunderstorms. Knowing how to find the best CBD products for your dog and how to use them safely helps you restore your fluffy companion’s well-being.

Explore the Conditions CBD for Dogs May Help

The best CBD for dogs may assist with easing the symptoms of many common conditions. Always make sure to consult with your veterinarian first, but you might want to explore how these products can help your pup if they struggle with these canine health issues:

  • anxiety
  • poor appetite
  • arthritis
  • seizures
  • skin disorders
  • nausea

Look for Safe and Effective CBD Products

One of your biggest questions right now might be, “Is CBD safe for dogs?” It is always suggested to consult with a veterinarian or pet care professional before introducing pet CBD products to your dog. Fortunately, you can rest assured that products made by trusted brands specifically for pets are generally safe for use. However, it helps to look for a few key features that make it clear your pup is using the safest products.

Pick Pesticide-Free Products

Cannabis farms can use a variety of different products on their plants that can eventually end up in the tinctures and chews that you give to your pet. Look for cannabis products for dogs that are pesticide-free to prevent your pet from ingesting harmful substances.

Check for Testing

Reputable CBD product manufacturers understand the importance of making sure that pets have access to safe tinctures. Make sure that the products you choose undergo rigorous testing to make sure that they are free from contaminants and contain the proper levels of CBD.

k-9ine Full Spectrum CBD Tincture from Belushi’s Farm is a trusted CBD oil for dogs that is fully tested and pesticide-free. This 100% full-spectrum pet CBD oil is derived from hemp grown on local Oregon farms.

Use Products Designed for Dogs

Technically, humans and canines can both benefit from using CBD. However, it’s important to only give your four-legged friend CBD calming chews or tinctures designed for dogs, as these products are made specifically for easy dosing for pets. Plus, they’ll come in flavors that make your pet want to take their daily CBD doses.

Know How to Find the Safest Dosage

The best CBD for dog anxiety should help them stay calm without making them feel overly drowsy. Typically, the dosing for pets is included on the CBD product label. You’ll need to know your pet’s weight to find the right dose.

CBD oil for dogs will typically come in a bottle with a dropper for easy dosing. For small pets that weigh under 15 pounds, one drop of a CBD tincture may be enough to provide relief. Meanwhile, large breeds may require one-half of a dropper full of tincture. Always start with the lowest dose and adjust accordingly.

Observe Your Pet for Potential Side Effects

Choosing CBD for pets that doesn’t have THC makes it easier to comply with the law and avoid potential side effects. However, too much CBD can make your pet drowsy or have low blood pressure.

Take time to watch your pet over a couple of hours after they take their new CBD products. Ideally, you should see them enjoy greater comfort and calmness without negative side effects. If they seem drowsy, then you can reduce their dose to find the perfect amount for your pet’s well-being.

Choose the Right CBD Products for Your Dog

Finding the right CBD tincture or chews for your dog is easier when you work with a trusted brand. As you begin using the CBD, keep an eye on your pet’s reaction. Following the directions carefully can help you ensure that you keep your pet safe and provide them with the best possible results.

Whether your pup is dealing with anxiety or issues that occur with aging, seeing their symptoms improve helps you to feel good knowing that you’re providing them with greater comfort.

If you ever find yourself going to a dispensary and then feel at a loss looking at the hundreds of different strains, you’re not alone. The world of cannabis is expansive and dynamic, with a strain for every mood, need, and occasion. When it comes down to choosing between Sativa or Indica and knowing which is best for you, let’s break it down in a way that’s as clear as your favorite strain.

Indica vs. Sativa: What’s the Difference?

The Basics

The difference between Indica and Sativa is more than just a label; it’s about how each strain interacts with your body and mind.

Indica is your go-to when it comes to relaxing. Imagine your favorite comfortable couch, but in plant form. Indica strains leave the user with a calm and body-oriented effect. Indica strains are best for that nightcap, snuggling in for a movie, or catching up on those quality Z’s. Now you see why someone would call it “in-da-couch.” Apart from this, Indica strains may also have a soothing and calming effect, which could potentially help reduce anxiety and stress.

Sativa, on the other hand, would be your day friend. It’s known to be activating and uplifting, and good for a hit of creativity or tasks outside the home. It’s all about the high—think of it as a hit of espresso for your head. They’re perfect for being social, working on a creative project, or just feeling more animated throughout the day.

Top Cannabis Strains: Our Picks for Indica and Sativa Lovers

You’ve got the basics down, but what about specific strains? Here are some top picks from Belushi’s Farm that showcase the best of both worlds.

Top Indica Strains:

Black Diamond OG—This strain is like wrapping yourself in a warm blanket. Known for its deeply relaxing effects, Black Diamond OG is a great choice for winding down and easing into a restful sleep.

Garlic Mintz— Known for its potentially stress-relieving and sedative effects, Garlic Mintz strain is a great indica weed strain for full-body relaxation.

Top Sativa Strains:

Blue Dream—This legendary strain offers the best of both worlds, providing a balanced high that’s both invigorating and calming. It’s ideal for a productive day when you still want to feel relaxed.

Lemon Vuitton— This sativa-dominant weed strain has a sweet, tasty flavor and a lifted high that’s perfect for boosting your mood and giving you a bit of energy to help you take on the rest of your day.

Finding Your Perfect Match

Now that you’ve got the scoop on Indica vs. Sativa, it’s time to consider what you’re looking to get out of your cannabis experience.

For Sleep: If you’re searching for the best Indica strain for sleep, look no further than Black Diamond OG. Its powerful sedative effects will have you counting sheep in no time.

For Anxiety: On the flip side, if you’re looking for the best strain for anxiety, an Indica like Garlic Mintz might be your new best friend. Its calming effects can help melt away stress and tension.

For Energy: Need a pick-me-up? A Sativa strain like Lemon Vuitton is your go-to for a daytime buzz that won’t leave you feeling couch-locked.

For Creativity: If you’re chasing those creative vibes, Blue Dream is the perfect strain to keep your mind sharp and your ideas flowing.

Which Strain is Best for You?

The answer really depends on what you’re looking for. Whether you need to wind down or rev up, there’s a strain out there that’s just right for you. The beauty of cannabis is that it is very much a lifestyle and personal preference. At Belushi’s Farm, we are excited about getting you connected. Remember: Next time you face the choice between Indica and Sativa, it’s about what effects you want in the moment. Have fun discovering!

In the world of cannabis cultivation, timing your harvest just right is akin to a chef mastering the perfect cooking time for a gourmet dish. It’s a crucial element that can define the difference between a good yield and a spectacular high-quality one. Here at Belushi’s Farm, we’re not just about growing cannabis; we’re about cultivating excellence and sharing our passion and knowledge with you. Let’s delve into the nuanced art of determining the optimal harvest time for your cannabis plants, ensuring you achieve the highest yield, quality, and most potent results.

The Critical Importance of Timing

Timing in cannabis cultivation is paramount. Harvest your plants too early, and you’ll be left with a less potent product, potentially lacking in the full spectrum of desired effects. Wait too long, and the THC, the primary psychoactive component, begins to degrade into CBN (cannabinol), offering a more sedative effect which might not be what you’re aiming for. The secret lies in identifying that sweet spot, where the potency, flavor, and aroma of your cannabis are at their peak.

Deciphering the Signs of Maturity

The readiness of cannabis for harvest is not a guesswork game but rather a science that involves keen observation. The most accurate indicator of maturity is the trichomes, those tiny, glittering structures that blanket the surface of the buds like a frosty veil. These trichomes are the treasure troves of cannabinoids and terpenes, which define the essence of your cannabis.

Understanding Trichome Color Stages:

  • Clear Trichomes: Signify an underripe plant. Harvesting at this stage would mean sacrificing potency and overall experience.
  • Milky White Trichomes: This is your golden hour. When most trichomes have turned a cloudy white, they’re at their peak THC content, promising a potent and flavorful yield.
  • Amber Trichomes: At this point, some of the THC has converted to CBN. While this might be beneficial for those seeking a more calming effect, it’s a sign you’ve moved past the plant’s prime potency.

A magnifying glass, jeweler’s loupe, or a small handheld microscope can become your best friends, offering a window into the microscopic world of your plant’s readiness.

Lowering Techniques Pre-Harvest

As your cannabis nears its optimal harvest time, some growers suggest considering employing lowering techniques. This involves reducing the light exposure to your plants in the last 24- 48 hours to stress the plant. This can encourage the cannabis plant to focus its energy on increasing cannabinoid and terpene production, potentially enhancing the quality of your final product.

The Art of Harvesting

When the signs align, and your cannabis is ripe for the picking, approach the harvest with the care it deserves. Start by trimming the larger fan leaves to better expose the bud sites. These leaves are lower in cannabinoids and terpenes, so focusing on the buds is where you’ll find your reward.

Cutting the plant at its base and hanging it upside down in a controlled environment (cool, dark, and slightly ventilated) initiates the drying process. This step is crucial for curing cannabis, a period that allows for the gradual breakdown of chlorophyll and ensures a smoother, more pleasant smoke or vapor.

The Importance of Patience and Observation

Cultivating cannabis is a labor of love and patience. From planting the seed to finally harvesting, every step is a lesson in observation and care. Learning to read the subtle changes in your plant, understanding the environmental factors at play, and adjusting your techniques accordingly can transform your cultivation experience from mere growing to true horticultural artistry.

Final Thoughts

Harvesting cannabis at the right time is an art form that distinguishes the good from the exceptional. It’s about understanding the life cycle of your plants, recognizing the signs of peak maturity, and applying the techniques that bring out the best in your yield. At Belushi’s Farm, our commitment to excellence and shared knowledge aims to empower you on your cultivation journey. May your efforts be rewarded with bountiful, potent harvests that reflect the pinnacle of cannabis quality. Here’s to your success and the continuous exploration of this remarkable plant’s potential.

In the ever-evolving world of cannabis, the term “hybrid weed” often pops up, leaving some enthusiasts curious and others a bit bewildered. What exactly is hybrid weed, and why does it matter? At Belushi’s Farm, we’re here to demystify the concept and introduce you to the world of hybrid strains, where the benefits and effects of Indica and Sativa strains meet. Let’s dive into what hybrid weed is, what it does, and explore some popular strains that might just change your cannabis experience.

Hybrid Weed: The Best of Both Worlds

Imagine taking the relaxing, calming effects of Indica strains and blending them with the energizing, uplifting qualities of Sativa strains. The result? Hybrid weed — a type of cannabis specifically bred to offer a balanced or targeted set of effects derived from its parent strains. Hybrids are cultivated to achieve a specific intensity and duration of effects, making them incredibly versatile and appealing to a wide range of users.

The Genesis of Hybrid Strains

Hybrid strains are the product of crossbreeding Indica and Sativa plants. This process can result in three types of hybrids:

  • Indica-dominant Hybrids: These strains lean more towards the physical relaxation associated with Indicas, but also offer a hint of Sativa’s mood elevation.
  • Sativa-dominant Hybrids: These offer the invigorating effects of Sativas with a touch of Indica’s soothing comfort.
  • Balanced Hybrids (50/50): These strains aim to provide an even mix of Indica and Sativa effects, perfect for those seeking a middle ground.

Why Choose Hybrid Weed?

Hybrids are tailored to offer a more customized cannabis experience. Whether you’re looking to relax with a joint and custom rolling papers after a long day without feeling sedated, or you need an energy boost without excessive jitteriness, there’s likely a hybrid strain designed with your needs in mind. By blending the characteristics of Indica and Sativa strains, hybrids can offer nuanced effects that address specific preferences or therapeutic needs.

The Benefits and Effects

Hybrid weed strains are celebrated for their ability to provide balanced effects that can accommodate both recreational and medical users. For instance, someone seeking pain relief without heavy sedation might opt for an Indica-dominant hybrid, while someone needing to manage anxiety without sacrificing alertness might prefer a Sativa-dominant hybrid.

The versatility of hybrid strains means they can be effectively used at different times of the day, depending on their dominant effects. Some hybrids are perfect for daytime use, offering a gentle lift in mood and energy, while others are better suited for evening use, helping users unwind and prepare for a good night’s sleep.

Popular Hybrid Strains

At Belushi’s Farm, we’ve seen firsthand the popularity of hybrid strains. Here are a few favorites:

  • Blue Dream: A Sativa-dominant hybrid that combines full-body relaxation with gentle cerebral invigoration.
  • Cherry Pie: A perfectly balanced hybrid strain with a strong terpene profile that tastes like biting into a piece of cherry pie.
  • LA Kush Cake: An Indica-dominant hybrid that’s a cross between Wedding Cake and Kush Mintz.

Exploring Further

For those looking to dive deeper into the world of cannabis and learn more about the differences between Indica, Sativa, and hybrid strains, Leafly is an excellent resource. It offers detailed strain reviews, user feedback, and scientific research on the effects of various cannabis types.

Final Thoughts

Hybrid weed represents the innovative spirit of cannabis cultivation, offering a tailored approach to consumption that can satisfy a wide range of tastes and needs. Whether you’re a medical patient seeking relief or a recreational user in search of new experiences, hybrid strains provide a unique opportunity to experience the best of what cannabis has to offer. At Belushi’s Farm, we’re committed to cultivating premium hybrid strains that meet our high standards of quality and potency. We invite you to explore our selection and find the perfect hybrid to suit your lifestyle.

Welcome to Belushi’s Farm’s expert guide on cannabis cultivation. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced grower, we’ll equip you with all the essential tips you need to grow weed successfully. Discover the secrets that will help you cultivate top-notch marijuana right in the comfort of your home.

The Weed-Growing Process

1. Understanding Cannabis Cultivation

Before diving into growing, it’s crucial to understand the basics of cannabis cultivation including the environment, lighting, nutrients, and other conditions the plant requires. Marijuana is a versatile plant with specific needs that must be met for optimal growth. Successful cultivation starts with choosing the right strain based on your preferences for its effects on the body and what is best suited to your specific environment. Depending on your preferred body effects, you could ask the breeders for major and minor cannabinoid potency and what their terpene profiles are like. Factors to consider for your indoor or outdoor growing are lighting, space, how long the plant takes to finish or mature, temperature, humidity, which varieties are most resistant to certain pathogens found in your area, and nutrients.

2. Indoor Growing: Creating the Perfect Environment

Creating the perfect environment for your cannabis plants is essential for their health and productivity. Start by setting up a dedicated grow room or grow tent. If you are growing outdoors or in greenhouses, find a sunny location where they will have access to healthy soil and plenty of light. Control the lighting using high-quality LED lights to mimic natural sunlight and adjust the light cycle to imitate the plant’s natural growth phases. Cannabis is a photoperiod plant which means that they mature in relation to the day length.

Maintaining the right temperature and humidity is crucial for your cannabis plants. The ideal temperature range is between 67-75°F during the day, and slightly cooler at night. Keep the humidity levels around 55-70% during the vegetative stage and 40-55% during the flowering stage to prevent mold growth.

3. Germination: The First Step in Growing Weed

To germinate your cannabis seeds, you can use the paper towel method or the soak and plant method. Whichever way you choose, ensure that your seeds have access to warmth, moisture, and darkness to stimulate their growth. Once your seeds have sprouted, carefully transfer them to a small container with nutrient-rich soil, ensuring they have ample space to develop strong roots.

4. Transplanting and Vegetative Growth

As your marijuana plants grow, they will require more space and nutrients. Transplant them into larger pots once their root system becomes well-established. During this phase, your plants will develop foliage and grow taller. This is what is called the vegetative stage and a rule of thumb to follow for indoor growing is to make sure the plants receive 18 hours of light during this phase.

Ensure you provide the plants with a balanced nutrient solution that contains a good mix of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. During the vegetative stage, higher levels of nitrogen are preferred as this drives plant growth and supports the plant’s ability to photosynthesize. Always watch the pH of your water and soil along with its electrical conductivity (EC). These are both factors that indicate how well the plant will be able to uptake the nutrients you are giving it.

Getting a par reader will be helpful to monitor light intensity if you are growing indoors or in greenhouses and using lights or supplemental lights. You want to make sure that you don’t damage your plants. Bleaching on the leaves is a sign that the light intensity may be off.

5. Flowering Stage and Maximizing Yield

Because they are photoperiod plants, their life cycle will transition from a vegetative stage to the flowering stage where they begin to develop buds and mature. Adjust the light cycle to 12 hours of light and 12 hours of darkness to trigger flowering. As your plants flower, they will require higher levels of phosphorus and potassium and lower nitrogen levels. A well-rounded nutrient program will also include micronutrients such as calcium and magnesium along with minerals like silica.

Pruning and training your plants during this stage can significantly improve yields and promote even growth to ensure there is even light being dispersed across the canopy. Use techniques like topping, low-stress training (LST), and defoliation to encourage multiple colas and bushier plants.

Maintain a close eye on the trichomes, the tiny crystals on the buds, to determine the perfect time for harvest. They will visually go from glassy to milky which indicates they are very close to being ready to harvest. For a more potent product, allow some trichomes to turn amber before harvesting.

6. Common Pests and How to Deal with Them

Unfortunately, pests can significantly threaten your cannabis plants, even when grown indoors. Watch closely for any signs of infestation, such as yellowing leaves, webbing, or small bugs crawling on the foliage.

To deal with pests effectively, use organic pest control methods whenever possible to avoid harmful residue on your buds. There are safe sprays that can be applied that will help mitigate these issues. Safe and effective sprays include neem oil and insecticidal soap. Other Integrated Pest Management (IPM) techniques that can be used are introducing beneficial insects like ladybugs.

Bottom-line

You’ve now gained a solid understanding of how to grow weed effectively.  Cannabis cultivation can be a rewarding and fulfilling hobby when approached with the proper knowledge and techniques. Remember to choose the right strain, create an ideal indoor environment, and give your plants the care and attention they need at each growth stage. Happy growing!

Belushi’s Farm & Dakota Herb Celebrate Their New Partnership

South Dakota is the latest stop on Jim Belushi’s self-proclaimed ‘World Weed Domination’ tour.  This week, he represented Belushi’s Farm at the grand opening events for Dakota Herb’s medicinal marijuana dispensaries across the state.

The dispensary and cultivation company began its growing operation in 2022, opening its first brick-and-mortar store in November 2022. Since then, Dakota Herb has expanded to include licensed dispensaries in Brandon, Vermillion, Huron, Aberdeen, and Lincoln County, plus cultivation facilities in Sioux Falls and Brandon.
Since legalizing medical cannabis in 2021, South Dakota has more than 11K patients currently signed up for the state’s approved medical cannabis program, and that number is steadily growing. As of Monday, July 25, 2023, South Dakotans with a medical cannabis patient card can purchase Belushi’s Farm’s hand-selected marijuana strains that serve as the source genetics for Dakota Herb’s local growing operation.

After losing his brother to a drug overdose, Jim is a strong and vocal advocate for legalized cannabis and the plant’s ability to change and save lives. Dakota Herb’s goal to demystify and destigmatize cannabis aligns beautifully with Jim’s fundamental belief that cannabis has therapeutic, healing properties and that it can help alleviate suffering from addiction, making the collaboration a match made in heaven.

Jim may be best known as a celebrated actor and talented musician, but he is a complex man with a myriad of talents. The author, activist, and cannabis farmer will always be an ‘Edutainer,’ and now, Jim’s 93-acre cannabis farm in Eagle Point, Oregon, is the stage for his Discovery Channel show, Growing Belushi, now streaming on MAX

The show focuses on the farm, where elusive, legendary cannabis strains are cultivated and shared with dispensaries across the country. Growing Belushi debuted in 2020 on the Discovery Channel and recently wrapped up its third season.

Belushi’s Farm is home to a range of offerings including The Blues Brothers, Captain Jack’s Gulzar Afghanica (a rare strain from the Hindu Kush region that became known in the ’70s as “The Smell of SNL”), Good Ugly Weed, and Belushi’s Farm Premium House brand.

Jim also happens to be the ringleader of a bunch of ragtag “farmers” who have managed to grow and successfully market several legendary strains of cannabis on Belushi’s Farm.

Jim and his award-winning Oregon-based marijuana operation are the subjects of a popular TV show called “Growing Belushi,” now in its third season. This season is about to wrap up but there is still time to catch up with Jim and the crew before the last new episode airs on May 10, 2023, on Discovery and Discovery Plus. If you’re new to the show and you need to binge or catch up, you’re in luck. ‘Belushi it up’ with your favorite strain of Belushi’s bud and watch as the drama unfolds.

This season of Growing Belushi started with a mysterious fire that threatened the harvest, a handful of expansion opportunities, and lots of “juice.” Jim is still obsessed with expansion and finding the most elusive seeds on the planet, so he and Chris road-trip across the U.S. seeking turnkey facility takeovers, searching for a seed guru with a special guest, and plenty of unhappy clone plants threatening Jim’s worldwide weed domination plan.

The legendary cannabis strains Jim has procured (often by extreme measures) and growing on Belushi’s Farm for the past seven years are the competitive edge for the brand. Any cannabis business knows you need supreme quality seed to be taken seriously in this industry and Jim has done that. First, with the wildly successful Captain Jack’s aka “the smell of SNL,” then Jim returned from Colombia with three more legendary strains: Mango Biche, Punto Rojo, and Santa Marta Gold Legacy. Strains like the farm’s Cherry Pie, The Blues Brothers, and Chasing Magic have helped the brand catapult even further into the spotlight.

In the “Big Sur Holy Weed” episode, SNL alum and lifelong pal Dan Aykroyd shows up with a hair-brained yet brilliant plan to track down the urban legend, a monk rumored to be the ‘keeper’ of one of the most mythical OG strains called “Big Sur Holy Weed.” The origin of the fabled seed is the debate of much speculation and it’s protected by the monk known only as “Mojave” who smoked Big Sur Holy Weed as a meditation aid decades ago. Convinced this is the ticket, Jim and his cousin Chris pack up the car and blaze a trail to the haunting woods of Big Sur, California to find the mystical monk and his magical marijuana.

Back on the banks of the Rogue River, Jim’s cousin Larry attempts to hold down the farm and become the de-facto CEO while Jim and Chris are on the road (again). Larry is informed that they have 600 extra pounds of cannabis they need to move before it goes bad. Wait – again? Larry quickly realizes he’s not going to shimmy his way into the head honcho spot and that he’s in way over his head.

The cannabis operation that started as part of Oregon’s medical marijuana program in the state’s Banana Belt has become a sprawling and spiritual 93 acres with 1,800 feet of riverfront. On Belushi’s Farm, beautiful and renowned cannabis thrives where the sun, water, and air make the perfect combination to sustain a naturally powerful and pure crop.

In the last episode of season 3, Jim heads to his homeland – Albania. Prime Minister Edi Rama has personally invited Jim to speak with him about the possibility of the country going pro-cannabis after decades of it being illegal and heavily criminalized, something Jim is passionate about.

But that’s not enough. (Is anything ever enough for Jim?) Jim has his sights set on global expansion. If he is going to become the “Minister of Marijuana” for Albania (you’ll need to watch episode 4 for more on this one), he knows he needs to step it up to stay on top of the highly competitive cannabis business.

Will Jim receive the sign he was looking for to launch his brand internationally? Or will his homeland trip be a bust?

You’ll just have to watch and see for yourself.

Watch Growing Belushi Wednesdays at 9 PM ET on Discovery. You can catch up on seasons 1, 2, and most of 3 on discovery+. Additionally, all seasons can be seen on the upcoming MAX network, formally HBO Max.

Belushi’s Farm is home to a range of offerings including The Blues Brothers, Captain Jack’s Gulzar Afghanica (a rare strain from the Hindu Kush region that became known in the ’70s as “The Smell of SNL”), and Good Ugly Weed.

Belushi’s buds are on fire — figuratively and literally. “Burning Down the House” is the aptly-titled season 3 premiere episode of the Discovery Channel’s “Growing Belushi” series, which begins with a mysterious fire at Belushi’s Farm. The flames engulfed $500,000 worth of cannabis, also sending the drying facility and barn up in smoke — but not in a positive, Cheech and Chong kind of way..

The new season of “Growing Belushi” premiered on April 5 and is now streaming on Discovery and Discovery Plus. The show follows actor Jim Belushi and “his ragtag team of farmers” as they work to transform the small southern Oregon cannabis farm into an expanded global brand. The show’s combination of laughs and information adds up to what Belushi calls “edutainment.” The show features various strains of cannabis cultivated at the farm and explores a myriad of uses for magical marijuana beyond its psychoactive effects, including its potential as a natural remedy for various ailments.

In the first episode of this season, Belushi and his team must rise from the ashes in time for the next harvest. The clock is ticking and another $500,000 of cannabis is at risk. Growing, harvesting, and processing marijuana is not easy or simple, and the commercial cannabis business is not all fun and games. But the ‘edutainment’ aspect also sees happier times, including a guest visit from Belushi’s business partner Dan Aykroyd (who co-starred with Jim’s late brother John Belushi in the cult classic “Blues Brothers”) and a Blues Brothers concert at Joliet Prison where the original movie was filmed.

Season 3 sees Belushi continue to pursue his brand expansion goals by introducing strains like Blues Brothers Working Man’s Brand and Cherry Pie, and includes a “Growing Belushi” marathon on April 20 to commemorate the annual cannabis celebration. The 4/20 marathon will start at 7 a.m. PT/10 a.m. ET on Thursday, April 20.

Season 3 tackles tough topics too, including sick plants, seed genetics, and cloning. In episode 4, “Big Sur Holy Weed,” Jim and the gang search for the legendary mythological cannabis seed that was launched by California hippies in the 60s. Additional season highlights include an extra 600 pounds of cannabis the team needs to move before it goes bad, the pursuit of Worldwide Weed Domination, a U.S. road trip adventure, and plenty of brash decisions that could send the entire business into a tailspin.

As audiences have learned, Jim is his own worst enemy. Will he learn from his mistakes and take his cannabis business across the USA and overseas, or will Belushi’s Farm be “up in smoke” once again? Tune in to season 3 of “Growing Belushi” to find out.

You can stream Growing Belushi on Discovery Plus.
